Life # 29 - The Harrison Family

This month, we want to do something kind for a family from the Sunshine Coast who are facing a great deal of hardship.

Just over a year ago, Lisa Harrison was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. By the time they found it, it had already become very aggressive and had spread to her lungs. Despite intensive chemo treatments – one of which caused her to have a stroke – she has been told that she has just weeks to live.

Lisa is now having palliative care, and needs portable oxygen. She is tube fed, and taking constant strong pain management drugs just to be here each day.

Lisa and her husband Phil have 5 children and 4 grandchildren. They are an incredibly tight-knit family and Lisa’s illness has hit them all incredibly hard.

Financially, things have also been difficult. Phil has reduced his hours at work to help care for Lisa. They have had some great support for the community, which has helped them to pay for some of the medical equipment Lisa needs, and also to make some repairs to their home.  But they are still facing a lot if expenses on what has become a very limited income.

With your help, we would love to help cover some of their expenses for a few months, so they can focus on spending time together without having to worry about money.
