Life # 35 - The Crute family from Yeppoon
This month, the team at DC Motors Rockhampton would like to help Erin and Blair Crute from Yeppoon.
When their son Jayce was born, he suffered a brain injury due to lack of oxygen and blood supply to his brain. They watched their little boy struggle for four months, before being given the news that he had quadriplegic cerebral palsy and cortical vision impairment.
Since that time, Jayce’s life has been filled with endless hospital appointments, therapies and constant struggles.
Jayce is now two years old. He has seizures, needs a feeding tube, and he is not yet able to roll, sit, crawl, walk, talk or use his hands independently.
Jayce has been accepted onto a program to undergo Stem Cell therapy abroad later this year, which gives the family a great deal of hope. But it comes with a hefty price tag, which they have been tirelessly fundraising for. But even his treatment in Australia comes at a cost – travel, accommodation and time off work all adds up. Erin and Blair also have a 9 month old baby boy.
This is a family going through a very difficult and time, and with your help, we’d like to do something kind for them.
What We Need:
1. Donations towards travel costs / petrol cards – if you would like to make a donation or give a petrol card, please click the link below to email Carrissa, who is the staff member co-ordinating the collection.
2. Your clutter! The family is holding a garage sale to help raise funds for Jayce. They need clean, usable items that they can sell. If you have any items they may be able to sell, please let Carrissa know. Or you can drop them off on Saturday June 16th between 1pm and 5pm at 11 Birdwood Avenue, Yeppoon (the garage sale will be on 30th June)
3. New toys for the children – if you would like donate a gift for Jayce or his little brother, please pass them to Carrissa.
4. Cards – sometimes the right words at the right time can make all the difference to someone. If you’d like to send a card to any member of the family please leave it with Carissa.
Thank you so much for your help!
