Western Plains team spreading kindness and changing lives
Last month, the team at Western Plains Automotive in Dubbo helped to change the life of a family from Bourke going through a very tough time.
Lea-Anne, a mum of 4, is battling cancer. She has had surgery to removed her kidney, adrenal glad, and part of her bowel, pancreas, splean and diaphragm. The cancer has returned, and is now in her abdomen and liver. Lea-Anne has stopped chemotherapy now and is trialling a drug at a cancer centre in Sydney.
Her husband, Neil, has retired early to help care for Leanne and the financial strain on the family is immense. With limited income and expensive travel, day-to-day life has become much more difficult.
The team at Western Plains Automotive raised over $1100 to help make the family's life a little bit easier.
Dealer Principal Grant Spencer spoke of the moment they presented the family with the donations. "It was so emotional ... Lea-Anne and half the staff wouldn’t stop crying. It was very rewarding and our staff now have a strong friendship with the Driscolls."
A big thank you to everyone who made this happen. Your donations - and your kindness - will make such a difference to this family.
